Urogynecology

Urogynecology is a subspecialty of obstetrics and gynecology dedicated to the treatment of pelvic floor disorders, which can lead to problems with urinary, bowel and sexual functioning. These disorders include pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence, constipation, sexual dysfunction and pelvic pain. After completing a four year residency in obstetrics and gynecology, urogynecologists then complete a fellowship in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery where they dedicate themselves to these conditions. Many gynecologists claim that they practice urogynecology, but an informed patient should inquire about their training, expertise and clinical outcomes.

Many women are uncomfortable discussing urogynecologic issues or do not know where to go for help. The good news is that treatment options are available and ASC is here to help.

Dr. Oscar A. Aguirre, the founder and director of ASC, is a fellowship-trained urogynecologist who leads a highly-qualified staff in providing expert, state-of-the-art urogynecological care. In 2007, Dr. Aguirre completed additional training in Female Genital Cosmetic Surgery (FGCS) and in 2009 he added numerous other cosmetic procedures and services including body contouring and dermal aesthetics.

Our mission at ASC is to create a partnership with you to address your concerns and pursue treatment options that will enable you to live free from the limitations brought on by your urogynecological and cosmetic conditions. Dr. Aguirre has had the busiest vaginal reconstructive practice in the Rocky Mountain region since 1999 and now has the busiest vaginal rejuvenation practice as well. Many physicians claim to do reconstructive and cosmetic procedures but their surgical volumes don't come close to Dr. Aguirre’s

If your needs extend beyond what we treat at our center, we will help orchestrate your care by referring you to an appropriate specialist. Dr. Aguirre works closely with other specialists, including colorectal surgeons and plastic surgeons, often coordinating a patient’s surgical needs with them to facilitate a combined procedure.
