One Woman’s Rosacea Transformation with Photofacials

Posted: October 10, 2013

A recent article in the United Kingdom’s Daily Mail chronicled one woman’s skin transformation after giving up alcohol. While the woman, Laura Hogarth, was only drinking about five glasses of wine per week (just one serving more than the recommended national guidelines for women), the improvement to her complexion from sobriety was dramatic. In addition to her face looking thinner and less bloated, the improvement in her rosacea was remarkable.

Alcohol, especially red wine, has long been known to be a rosacea trigger, along with spicy foods, hot showers, temperature extremes, strenuous exercise, sun damage and other causes. While rosacea can’t be cured, it can be effectively managed with photofacials, like those available at our Denver office.

In other words, you don’t have to give up the occasional glass of wine or spicy meal to live without persistent redness, broken capillaries and acne flare-ups.

In addition to rosacea, photofacials at ASC can dramatically improve:

  • Age spots
  • Solar lentigines (freckles)
  • Café Au Lait macules (darker skin)
  • Brown spots
  • Birth marks
  • Port wine stains
  • Red spots (hemangiomas)
  • Enlarged pores
  • Poikloderma
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Skin tightening and collagen rebuilding is also achieved
