43 yo mother of two from Evergreen, Colorado self-referred to nationally renowned Urogynecologist and leading cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Oscar Aguirre after seeing an ad on urogynecology in Women’s Edition. She has a fifteen year history of vaginal relaxation symptoms following a traumatic vaginal delivery. Both she and her husband noticed decreased pleasure with sex which has worsened over the years. Over the past four years she had experienced stress associated incontinence and increasing difficulties with bowel movements. Upon examination, Dr. Aguirre found her to have anterior and posterior compartment prolapse with concomitant uterine descent. There are bilateral paravaginal defects present contributing to the complexity of her prolapse. She was also found to have multiple anal skin tags present. After further testing and discussing all non-surgical and surgical options, she decided to move forward with scheduling the surgical procedures recommended by Dr. Aguirre. In an In-Patient hospital surgical setting Dr. Aguirre performed Supracervical Abdominal Hysterectomy, Abdominal Sacrocolpopexy, Paravaginal Repair, Rectocele Repair, Suburethral Sling and Anal Tag Excision. To address the decreased vaginal sensation with intercourse, Dr. Aguirre performed a Vaginoplasty at the same time. Pt returned to the office for regularly scheduled postop appointments, with excellent support and results.
