We recently shared a story about a patient named Katie who decided to get vaginal rejuvenation with Dr. Oscar A. Aguirre. Here, we follow Katie on her journey to her vaginal rejuvenation treatments with her pre-op appointment experience.
“I had my Pre-op appointment on April 30th. When I arrived, I was greeted by Jacque who asked me how I was feeling. My response was ‘so nervous and scared!’ She assured me that it was normal to feel that way and that Dr. Aguirre would answer all of my questions. So, I actually had my Pre-op appointment with Dr. Aguirre. The surgeon himself personally explained all of the details about the procedure one on one with me! I thought it was really wonderful that he took the time to do the Pre-op appointment. He went over all of the potential mishaps, which was kind of scary, but I trusted Dr. Aguirre enough that I knew the chances of anything going awry was very slim. He was completely honest with all of his answers to my questions, he did not try to ‘sugar coat’ anything.
When I asked him about the level of pain, he said it would be about a 6/10 that first weekend. Dr. Aguirre carefully went over pain management and all of the post-op ‘Do’s’ and ‘Dont’s’ and said if I follow his instructions, I could keep the pain well under control. He let me know that I would be going home with a catheter on Friday and that I could remove it myself on Monday.
We also discussed the new size of my vagina. How exciting! He said he could make me as small as possible, but not too small so that sex would be uncomfortable for me. After the Pre-Op appointment with Dr. Aguirre, I felt much less nervous and much more confident about my ability to endure the procedure. Count down to surgery … two weeks!”
