Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation® (LVR®) is a one hour outpatient procedure designed to enhance sexual gratification. In vaginal childbirth, when a baby exits, the muscles, ligaments and fascia within the birth canal may weaken. This weakness may become worse with additional deliveries or as you age and lead to decreased vaginal muscle tone. As a result some women experience vaginal looseness, decreased sensation and pleasure, vaginal flatus and an unattractive gaping introitus. The focus of these procedures is on the reconstruction of the damaged muscles and tissues of the vaginal cavity to decrease the internal and external vaginal diameters. This procedure restores the vagina and it’s supporting structures to a more youthful, “pre-pregnancy” state. In doing so, the vagina tightens, which allows for enhanced friction increasing sexual gratification for both men and women. Vaginal muscle tone and appearance are also enhanced.
Laser Anterior Vaginal Rejuvenation
Laser anterior vaginal rejuvenation repairs the muscles and tissues along the front of the vagina, underneath the bladder, in order to narrow a large/wide vaginal cavity. Women who choose this procedure experience a loss of vaginal sensation during vaginal intercourse. Laser posterior vaginal rejuvenation is almost always performed at the time as the anterior LVR®. Some may also experience urinary incontinence and thus require an urogynecologic evaluation to determine the need for a sub-urethral sling at the time of surgery. Laser Posterior Vaginal Rejuvenation
Laser posterior vaginal rejuvenation repairs the muscles and tissues along the back of the vagina, overlying the rectum, in order to narrow a large/wide vaginal cavity. Women who choose this procedure experience a loss of vaginal sensation during vaginal intercourse and feel that their vagina is very “loose” and “gaping.” Their partners will at times “fall out” during sex and also notice decreased sensation. Another common complaint is difficulty keeping tampons in position. This procedure is often combined with laser perineal rejuvenation since both the vagina and perineum may be damaged by childbirth and episiotomies. Some women may experience loss of control of flatus or stool due to childbirth trauma. Please click here to learn more about urogynecological conditions.
Reconstruction of the hymen can repair the hymen to its “pre-sexual” state, as if nothing ever occurred. ASC is sensitive to the needs of women from all cultures that embrace these particular issues because of cultural, social, or religious reasons. Privacy is respected.
